PETER BONUTTI)<\/p>\n<p>The SBL Bonutti Clinic, in partnership with the Effingham Art Guild and Effingham County Chamber of Commerce, recently hosted the annual Guild reception and chamber business after-<br \/>\nhours event.<\/p>\n<p>Twelve local artists were recognized as winners of the annual art contest; six artists received honorable mentions, which included $100 stipends for each, and six other artists won individual<br \/>\ncategories and received $250 each.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Effingham Art Guild continues to amaze us with the range of creativity and expression on display,\u201d SBL Orthopedic Surgeon Peter Bonutti, MD, said. \u201cEach piece hanging in this clinic tells a story, and together, they reflect the spirit of our community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis clinic has a long tradition of supporting the Effingham Art Guild,\u201d SBL President and CEO Kim Uphoff said. \u201cThe partnership between the Art Guild and the Bonutti Clinic continues to remind us that art plays an essential role in the well-being of both patients and caregivers alike.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Bonutti and his brother, Boris, established the partnership with the Effingham Art Guild more than two decades ago. This year marks the 24th time the clinic has hosted the art reception.<\/p>\n<p>Below are the six artists who received honorable mentions, with their pieces listed:<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Barbara Althoff \u2013 \u201cBegonia Splendor\u201d<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Linda Wente \u2013 \u201cLarge Owl\u201d<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Eileen Springer \u2013 \u201cSunset of the Brave\u201d<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Jan VonBokel \u2013 \u201cCountry Colors\u201d<br \/>\n\uf0b7 J. R. Caldwell \u2013 \u201cLake Cabin\u201d<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Destry Potter \u2013 \u201cMy Way Home\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The following artists won the respective categories:<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Landscapes category: Kimberly Lewis \u2013 \u201cBring a Basket\u201d<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Floral category: Barbara Brummer \u2013 \u201cMajestic\u201d<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Animals category: Carrie Wente \u2013 \u201cZebra\u201d<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Still life category: Tom David \u2013 \u201cA Basket of Apples\u201d<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Rural living category: Melody Lewis \u2013 \u201cFall is in the Air\u201d<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Cityscapes category: Theresa Pollum \u2013 \u201cHeart Strong\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A record number of entries were submitted this year, and all were displayed at the event.
