Visitation will be held from 9:30 am to time of service, Thursday at the funeral home.\u00a0Memorial donations may be given to the Effingham County Humane Society or to St. Jude\u2019s Children\u2019s Research Hospital.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Jerry was born July 22, 1939 in Effingham, the son of Robert and Ivanel (Babbs) Katz. He married Patricia Jo \u201cPat\u201d Monical on June 25, 1967. Jerry worked for many years as a pressman for World Color Press, was a long-time member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Effingham, and was a veteran of the United States Army.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Jerry is survived by his wife, Pat of Effingham; son, Jerry (Cyndee) of Clay City; grandsons, Nick Katz and Tyler (McKenna) Katz; great-grandchildren, Reeve and Miller; sister, Pat Miller and brother-in-law, Leon (Carol) Monical.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ron Katz.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jerry died on Saturday, October 25<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":21707,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_lmt_disableupdate":"no","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[21],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-21565","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-obits"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 -
