BROWNSTOWN — Windsor\/Stewardson-Strasburg and South Central claimed victories in the National Trail Conference Seventh-Grade Girls Basketball Tournament Thursday evening.<\/p>\n

South Central handed Cowden-Herrick\/Beecher City a 31-13 loss to advance to the championship game.<\/p>\n

South Central will meet either Cumberland or Sigel St. Michael Saturday at 11:30 a.m. for the championship. Those two teams play tonight.<\/p>\n

CHBC dropped into the third place game and will meet the loser of the Cumberland vs. St. Michael contest Saturday at 10:15 a.m.<\/p>\n

In consolation bracket play, Stewardson-Strasburg was a 35-29 winner over Dieterich in triple overtime.<\/p>\n

Windsor\/Stew-Stras held a 10-6 opening quarter lead and led 15-12 at halftime. Dieterich started a comeback, pulling within 21-19 in the third quarter. Dieterich tied the game at 25-25 sending the game into the first overtime period. Both teams scored three points in the second overtime before Windsor\/Stew-Stras pulled out the win with a 7-1 third overtime run.<\/p>\n

Laney Barnard led the way for the winners with 14 points while KJ Althoff added 11.<\/p>\n

Dieterich was led in scoring by Alivia Icenogle with 10 points. Ali Koester had 10 rebounds and seven steals.<\/p>\n

Windsor\/Stew-Stras moved into the consolation championship game and will face either Altamont or Neoga at 9 am. Saturday. Those two teams play tonight at 6 p.m.<\/p>\n

Robinson was a 40-13 winner in seventh-grade play. Robinson took an 18-6 halftime lead and never looked back.<\/p>\n

Nora Brumleve led the Bullpups with five points.<\/p>\n

In eighth-grade action,\u00a0 St. Anthony was a 24-5 winner.<\/p>\n

The Bullpups led 9-2 at halftime then had a 15-3 second half run.<\/p>\n

The Mustangs won the seventh-grade contest, 42-11 to improve to 5-2.<\/p>\n

Effingham held a 22-7 halftime lead and never looked back. Alivia Lauritzen tallied 16 points to lead the way while Sophie Wiedman added eight.<\/p>\n

The Mustangs are now 3-4 on the season.<\/p>\n

In eighth-grade action, Effingham was a 43-17 winner.<\/p>\n

The Mustangs ran out to a 21-2 halftime lead and never looked back.<\/p>\n

Cloie Bailey led in scoring with 14 points while Kloey Bierman and Rhylee Holland added 10 points each.<\/p>\n

The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade contest 37-6 to improve to 11-1 on the season.<\/p>\n

Grunloh led the way with eight points while P. Ruholl added seven. The Shoes are now 11-1 on the season.<\/p>\n

In the eighth-grade contest, T-town held a 20-10 halftime lead and went on for a 34-24 victory.<\/p>\n

Meyer scored 10 for the winners who improved to 10-2.<\/p>\n
