McCLURE)<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The life of First Amendment advocate and popular radio host Charlie Kirk has been honored by the Illinois Senate through a resolution filed by State Senator Steve McClure (R-Springfield).<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cCharlie Kirk was murdered for sharing his political views in a public place,\u201d said Senator McClure. \u201cHe dedicated his life to healthy political discourse, and he encouraged so many college students across the country to participate in debates on important issues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Senate Resolution 427, filed by McClure, passed unanimously on October 16, 2025. The resolution officially mourns the passing of Charlie Kirk and extends condolences from the members of the Senate to Kirk\u2019s \u201cfamily, friends, and all who knew and loved him.\u201d It also directs a copy of the resolution to be presented to his family \u201cas an expression of our deepest sympathy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was born in Arlington Heights, Illinois, in 1993. Kirk\u2019s organization would become a national powerhouse as the man behind it became an accomplished author, speaker, and talk radio host.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Charlie Kirk was tragically killed on September 10, 2025, when he shot by a sniper during a Turning Point event on the campus of Utah Valley University.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThere is no place for political violence in this country and, while Charlie Kirk was murdered to silence him, his voice is now louder than ever,\u201d said McClure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(SEN.
