{"id":20960,"date":"2025-10-18T10:43:31","date_gmt":"2025-10-18T15:43:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thexradio.com\/news\/?p=20960"},"modified":"2025-10-18T10:46:12","modified_gmt":"2025-10-18T15:46:12","slug":"honorato-t-nory-japson-82-of-willow-hill","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thexradio.com\/news\/obits\/20960-honorato-t-nory-japson-82-of-willow-hill\/","title":{"rendered":"Honorato T. &#8220;Nory&#8221; Japson (82) of Willow Hill"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"pdfprnt-buttons pdfprnt-buttons-post pdfprnt-top-right\"><a href=\"javascript: window.print()\" class=\"pdfprnt-button pdfprnt-button-print\" target=\"_self\" ><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thexradio.com\/news\/wp-content\/plugins\/pdf-print\/images\/print.png\" alt=\"image_print\" title=\"Print Content\" \/><span class=\"pdfprnt-button-title pdfprnt-button-print-title\">Print<\/span><\/a><\/div><p>Honorato T. \u201cNory\u201d Japson age 82, of Willow Hill, Illinois, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2025, at his home.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the Crain Funeral Home, Newton, with Father David Beagles officiating.\u00a0 Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services Thursday, October 23rd in the funeral home.\u00a0 Burial will be Mound Cemetery with military rites being offered by Jasper Post No. 20 of the American Legion.<\/p>\n<p>Nory was born on January 11, 1943, in Lila, Bohol, Philippines, the son of Esteban and Juana (Tagadiad) Japson.\u00a0 Nory married Virginia A. McKee on August 25, 1978.\u00a0 She preceded him in death on February 17, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Following high school, Nory enlisted in the United States Navy.\u00a0 During his time in service, Nory was a Navy cook for the officers and chiefs.\u00a0 He served during the Vietnam War and completed his military service at USS Fort Snelling, Little Creek, Virginia in 1983.\u00a0 He honorable served his country for 22 years, retiring as a 1 st class Petty Officer.<\/p>\n<p>Following his Navy career, Nory earned his associates degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management.\u00a0 He spent the next twenty- two years cooking for the Moral Welfare Recreation, the catering and conference center for the U.S. Navy.\u00a0 After his retirement, Nory and his late wife, Virginia, returned to her childhood home of Willow Hill.<\/p>\n<p>Nory faithfully attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Oblong.\u00a0 He was active in the Robinson Lions Club, the Filipino American Club of Virginia Beach, the V.F.W. No. 392 and enjoyed helping with the many activities of the Willow Hill Church.<\/p>\n<p>In his free time, Nory loved to cook.\u00a0 He loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and loved to spend time with them.\u00a0 Nory enjoyed music and taught himself to play the guitar and harmonica.\u00a0 He liked making music at the area hootenannies.\u00a0 He enjoyed dancing, bowling, playing Bingo and games, especially Mahjong and cards.<\/p>\n<p>Nory will be loved and remembered by his children, Ginory and Marcus, Juana;
