TEUTOPOLIS — Teutopolis High School swept North Clay in volleyball action Monday evening.<\/p>\n

The Wooden Shoes won the varsity contest, 25-10, 25-16.<\/p>\n

Leading the team were Gabby Tegler with 13 digs and three aces, Kaylie Jordan with 17 assists, Elise Pals with six kills and Ella Willenberg with 10 points.<\/p>\n

T-town also claimed the junior varsity match, 25-17, 25-15 and won the freshman contest 25-10, 26-24.<\/p>\n

Teutopolis will be back in action tonight at Dieterich.<\/p>\n

At Teutopolis<\/strong><\/p>\n

At Shelbyville<\/strong><\/p>\n

Windsor\/Stewardson-Strasburg had a tough time downing opponent Shelbyville Monday evening.<\/p>\n

The Hatchets won the opener 27-25 and fought to take the second set 28-26.<\/p>\n

“The girls decided to make tonight an interesting game,” said WSS Coach Ronda Schlechte. “Shelbyville made us work for every point. We sure did not play as smoothly as we did this weekend. With Teutopolis on Friday, they are going to have to find that consistency again.”<\/p>\n

Brinlie Durbin led in aces with three and assists with 11. Zaida Wascher and Mya Friese had 11 kills each. Wascher led in digs with 10. Zoey Conder had three block assists.<\/p>\n

Windsor\/Stew-Stras varsity is 13-7 on the season.<\/p>\n

Windsor\/Stew-Stras won the junior varsity match 25-19, 20-25, 15-13 to improve to 11-2. The freshmen\/sophomores fell to Shelbyville, 25-22, 25-10 and dropped to 6-5-3 on the season.<\/p>\n

The Hatchets play host to Cowden-Herrick\/Beecher City at Windsor today.<\/p>\n

At Dieterich<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dieterich lost the opening set to Cumberland 25-21 but came back to win the match 25-21, 25-13 Monday.<\/p>\n

Bailey Brummer and Lydia Wohltman had four aces each for the winners. Wohltman also led in digs with 12 and kills with six. Allie Uthell led in blocks with six. Aliza Garner had six assists.<\/p>\n

The Pirates were led by Alysa Dittamore with 15 assists and four aces, Mia Holsapple with 10 kills and one block, Hannah Shoemaker with one block, and Leah Gray with eight digs.<\/p>\n

Dieterich improved to 6-14 on the season.<\/p>\n

In junior varsity action, Dieterich was a winner 25-19, 25-14.<\/p>\n

At Farina<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cowden-Herrick\/Beecher City won the opening set over host South Central by a 25-13 count Monday evening.<\/p>\n

But the Cougars (7-12) came back to take the next two sets, 25-21, 25-9 for the match.<\/p>\n

South Central was led by River Yingst with 17 assists and eight digs, Sophie Wodtka with five aces, Bailey Wodtka with 10 kills and Mya Schaal with two blocks.<\/p>\n

The Bobcats were led by Allison Shields with seven kills, Gracie Wright with four aces and 14 assists and Timber Watson with nine digs.<\/p>\n

South Central also claimed the junior varsity match 25-12, 25-15 and the freshman\/sophomore contest 25-11, 25-13. The Cougars return to action Thursday at Cumberland.<\/p>\n

At Farina<\/strong><\/p>\n

At St. Elmo<\/strong><\/p>\n

St. Elmo\/Brownstown continued to remain unbeaten in the Egyptian Illini Conference with a victory over Patoka Monday evening.<\/p>\n

The Eagles won 25-21, 25-17 and has now picked up two-set wins in 11 of their 12 season wins. They sit at 12-7 overall and are 4-0 in the EIC with one conference match left Oct. 9.<\/p>\n

SEB was led by Addie Sasse with one block and 13 assists, Presley Williams with eight kills, Alivia Claycomb and Madi Miller with one block each and Peyton Barker with 10 digs.<\/p>\n

At St. Elmo<\/strong><\/p>\n

St. Elmo\/Brownstown —<\/strong> M. Neoga was led by Malory Henderson, Josalyn Brandenburg and Keeli McKay with four digs each, Natalie Ballinger with two kills, Madelynn Frankie with three blocks and Chloe Frankie with nine assists.<\/p>\n
