STRASBURG — Teutopolis came calling and went back home with three volleyball victories over Windsor\/Stewardson-Strasburg Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

The Wooden Shoes won the varsity contest 25-20, 11-25, 25-22. Kaylie Jordan led the Shoes in digs with 15, points with 14, assists with 21 and aces with two. Elie Pals led in kills with 10 and blocks with three.<\/p>\n

Windsor\/Stew-Stras was led by Brinlie Durbin with 38 assists and 19 digs, Mya Friese with 23 kills and two aces and Brooke Schumacher with one solo block and three block assists.<\/p>\n

“We had an unusual amount of hitting errors tonight,” said WSS Coach Ronda Schlechte. “We gave them nine straight points in one rotation that should never have happened in the first set. They did battle back to just a five-point loss after being down by 11. They turned the tide in the second set and played really well.<\/p>\n

“Set three was a thriller. Both teams fought hard the entire set. T-town did a great job covering the floor. They were pulling up a lot. Tomorrow is back to practice to clean some things up.”<\/p>\n

Windsor\/Stew-Stras dropped to 6-5 on the season.<\/p>\n

In the junior varsity match, Teutopolis also was a winner, 25-22, 30-28. The Wooden Shoes swept with a 25-19, 25-17 win in freshman\/sophomore action.<\/p>\n

At Effingham<\/strong><\/p>\n

Effingham St. Anthony moved its high school volleyball record to 8-2 on the season with a victory over Cowden-Herrick\/Beecher City Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

The Bulldogs won 25-10, 25-11. Cara Hatton led the team in kills with five. Madelyn Gilmore had 13 assists. Audrey LaSarge finished with three blocked shots. Lilly Gannaway had seven aces and Claire Kinkelaar finished with six digs.<\/p>\n

The Bobcats were led by Allison Shields with two kills, Gracie Wright and Ryleigh Sarver with one ace each, Wright with three assists, Ethel Stuckemeyer with one block and Zoe Sarver with six digs.<\/p>\n

St. Anthony also defeated the Bobcats in junior varsity play, 25-11, 25-13.<\/p>\n

The Bulldogs are back in action Thursday playing host to Marshall.<\/p>\n

At Dieterich<\/strong><\/p>\n

The St. Elmo\/Brownstown Eagles remained unbeaten in National Trail Conference play but Dieterich made them work for their latest conference win as the Eagles beat the Maroons in three sets, 25-19, 21-25, 25-21 Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

Peyton Barker led the winners in kills with seven. Presley Williams had three blocked shots and 19 digs. Addie Sasse led in assists with 11 and Jenna Forbes had four aces.<\/p>\n

St. Elmo\/Brownstown is now 3-0 in the NTC, 8-3 overall.<\/p>\n

Dieterich was led by Bailey Brummer with six kills and two blocks, Skylar\u00a0 Russell also had two blocks, Kinley Will with four aces, Lydia Wohltman with nine digs and Lydia Fuesting with 11 assists. The Maroons dropped to 5-8 on the season.<\/p>\n

Altamont handed visiting Neoga a loss in three hard-fought battles Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

Neoga won the opening set, 28-26. Altamont came back with a 25-16 victory then won the match 25-19.<\/p>\n

Riley Rippetoe led Altamont in assists with 14, digs with 18, blocks with two and kills with five.<\/p>\n

Also putting down five kills each were Avery Aldrich, Kimber Sphar and Laila Hankins. Abby Wills led in aces with two.<\/p>\n

Neoga was led by Natalie Ballinger with two blocks, Madelynn Frankie with five kills, Chloe Frankie with 16 assists and Emily Frankie with 13 digs.<\/p>\n

Newton was a winner in all three matches over Charleston Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

The Eagles won the varsity contest 25-23, 25-22 to improve to 7-8 on the season.<\/p>\n

Bierman led in digs with 10 while Shull had nine assists. Schackmann and Brooks had one block each. Bierman and Herrmann led in kills with six each. Meinhart had two aces.<\/p>\n

Newton also won the junior varsity match, 25-17, 25-21 and claimed the freshman contest, 25-22, 25-10.<\/p>\n

The Eagles are back in action\u00a0 Thursday at Casey-Westfield.<\/p>\n

Cumberland was led by Jude Miller with six assists, Madelyn McElravy with five kills, Hannah Shoemaker with two aces and Leah Gray, Miller and McElravy with four digs each.<\/p>\n
