Teutopolis hosted a junior high school cross country meet Tuesday with teams Effingham, Effingham St. Anthony, Trinity Lutheran, Sigel St. Michael, Altamont Lutheran, Discovery Christian, Casey-Westfield and Mattoon competing.<\/p>\n

Effingham St. Anthony claimed first place in both the boys and the girls meets.<\/p>\n

The Bullpups won the girls race with 44 points followed by Sigel St. Michael 50, Teutopolis 68, Effingham 76, Trinity Lutheran 167 and Casey-Westfield 197. Altamont Lutheran, Mattoon and Discovery Christian did not have enough runners for a team score.<\/p>\n

St. Anthony’s Maeve Niebrugge won the race with a time of 12:34. Also scoring for the Bullpups were Sylvia Semple third in 12:37, Morgan Kabbes 11th in 13:32, Josie Ludwig 13th in 13:46 and Amelia Janis 16th in 13:55.<\/p>\n

Altamont’s Reagan Winter was second in 12:35. Effingham’s top finisher was Kynlie Rohr sixth in 12:56. T-town’s June Tegeler was eighth in 13:25.<\/p>\n

In the boys meet, St. Anthony won with 29 points followed by Effingham 65, Teutopolis 69, Altamont Lutheran 85, Sigel St. Michael 114, Trinity Lutheran 164 and Casey-Westfield 176.<\/p>\n

Effingham’s Jared Klingler was the winner with a time of 10:28. St. Anthony’s Max Schuette was second in 10:47. A Sigel St. Michael runner was third in 11:17.<\/p>\n

A large number of Effingham Junior High runners ran their PR (personal record) for the year.<\/p>\n
