TEUTOPOLIS — Teutopolis Junior High’s Davin Ruholl had a big hitting game as he finished with two singles, hit a home run and tallied five RBI in a 14-3 victory for the Wooden Shoes over Effingham St. Anthony Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Three seemed to be the big number as the Shoes tallied three in the first, second and fifth around five in the third.<\/p>\n

Along with Ruholl’s hitting were Maddux Pals with two doubles and two RBI and Charlie Koester with a single, double and two RBI. Evan Weidner and Finley Witges added two singles and an RBI each. The Shoes finished with 15 hits in the contest.<\/p>\n

Louie Niebrugge took charge on the mound for the Shoes. He went 2.1 innings, giving up one run on one hit, one walk while striking out three. Kaleb Buenker finished out the last 2.2 innings, giving up two runs on two hits, one walk and striking out three.<\/p>\n

St. Anthony had three hits led by Parker Phillips with a triple and Bentley Baudier with a double. Brooks Niebrugge added a single and an RBI.<\/p>\n

Effingham Sacred Heart moved into a 1-0 opening inning lead but Altamont came back to knot the score in the third. Sacred Heart then moved ahead 3-1 in the fifth and put the game away with a seven-run sixth.<\/p>\n

The Shamrocks had a 17-hit attack. Gabe Traub had three singles, a double and two RBI while Bryce Hayes added two singles, a double and an RBI. Jack Grunloh had three singles and an RBI, Jackson LaSarge a single, triple and an RBI and Lucas McDevitt three singles.<\/p>\n

Chris Kenter had a single and two RBI and Reuben Jansen a single and two RBI.<\/p>\n

McDevitt was the winning pitcher, going six innings, giving up two runs on two hits, four walks while striking out four.<\/p>\n

Altamont was led by Neu with two singles and Bower with an RBI.<\/p>\n

Effingham came through with two runs in the top of the seventh inning to pull out a 5-4 victory over Flora Floyd Henson Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Flora moved into a 2-0 opening inning lead. Effingham came back with a run in the second and tied in the top of the fourth. But Flora tallied two in the bottom of the fourth to move ahead 4-2.<\/p>\n

Effingham pulled within 4-3 in the fifth before winning the game in the seventh.<\/p>\n

Calvin Beck had a single, triple and knocked in a run for the Mustangs. Deek Thompson added a single and double while Roman Martin had a single and an RBI. Levi Eckert finished with an RBI.<\/p>\n

Brody Nelson came on in relief in the fifth inning and tossed a three-hitter with one walk while keeping Flora off the bases with eight strikeouts.<\/p>\n

Jacob Duncan had two singles and three RBI while Noah Friese had two singles and an RBI. Adam Pruemer and Johnny Richter contributed two singles and an RBI. Ty Kramer added a single and two RBI and Thompson and Camden Boyer a single and an RBI each.<\/p>\n
