Duncan had two singles, a double and three RBI while McCormick had three singles and an RBI.<\/p>\n<p>Johnny Richter was dominant on the mound, striking out 11 batters in five innings and allowing only one hit. Luke Roewe had a triple and two RBI while Reed Schumacher had a single, double and an RBI. Luke Roadarmel and Ben Noble had two RBI each.<\/p>\n<p>Elliot Thull went the four innings on the hill. Back row, left to right, Coach Brown, Luke Roadarmel, Ben Noble, Brody Cox, Curtis Bethel, Remington Strange, Tyce Kircher, Elliot Thull, Coach Torbeck.<\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Cowden-Herrick\/Beecher City won the Altamont Lutheran Tournament Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>In the opening contest, CHBC trailed by five runs but rallied to top Altamont Lutheran, 10-9 in extra innings.<\/p>\n<p>Brody Cox came on in relief and earned the win, giving up four hits and one run over six innings, striking out eight and walking four. Tyce Kircher started but struggled early. He came back to earn the save after relieving Cox in the last inning with the bases loaded and getting the final out.<\/p>\n<p>Curtis Bethel garnered three singles in four at-bats and drove in two runs. Cox finished with a single, double and two RBI. Ben Noble added two RBI and Kircher, Luke Roadarmel and Conor Jones had a single and an RBI each.<\/p>\n<p>In the second game, the Bobcats trounced Mattoon St. Johns by a 16-1 count in four innings.<\/p>\n<p>Roadarmel started and earned the win, allowing three hits, one run over four innings, striking out five and walking one.<\/p>\n<p>Cox had two doubles and five RBI while Bethal had a single, double and five RBI.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Truly everyone contributed,&#8221; said CHBC Coach John Brown. &#8220;What an outstanding day for our program. It&#8217;s been a while since we brought home this tournament&#8217;s championship trophy and doing it by beating two quality teams, while playing our fifth game in five days, says everything about this team&#8217;s resilience and fortitude. Teutopolis pitchers struck out five while the Panthers also sat down five.<\/p>\n<p>Charlie Koester opened the scoring in the first inning, with a single, scoring a run. The Shoes then added a run in the third on a wild pitch.<\/p>\n<p>The Panthers scored a run in the fourth and tied in the top of the sixth.<\/p>\n<p>But the Shoes came back as Connoer Bloemer singled, to score what would prove to be the winning run in the bottom of the frame.<\/p>\n<p>Connor Althoff earned the win. He did not give up a run or hit and walked one in his lone inning.<\/p>\n<p>Pleasant Plains jumped on the Shoes early and finished with a 5-2 victory.<\/p>\n<p>Pleasant Plains scored three in the first and two in the second.<\/p>\n<p>The Shoes came back with a run in the fourth and one in the sixth but couldn&#8217;t make up that opening run by Pleasant Plains.<\/p>\n<p>Maddux Pals led in hitting for the Shoes with a double and triple.
