BROWNSTOWN — Paris High School had a 29-10 second half scoring surge to outdistance Brownstown\/St. Elmo by a 53-31 count in girls basketball action Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Tigers held a slight 15-14 opening quarter lead.  Addie Sasse and Madi Miller kept the Bombers close with six points each.<\/p>\n

Paris continued on with an 8-7 second period to lead 23-21 at halftime.<\/p>\n

Danika  Ramsey connected on a three-pointer for the Bombers while Miller added on four more points.<\/p>\n

But the Tigers took over in the second half with a 16-4 third quarter as Watson nailed four baskets, two of those three-pointers and was two of two at the line for 12 in the quarter after scoring only five in the first half.<\/p>\n

The Tigers continued on with a 13-6 final period as Smith took over with six points.<\/p>\n

Haslett had five of the six points for the Bombers.<\/p>\n

Miller was the lone player for BSE to finish in double figures with 13 on four field goals and five of eight at the line.<\/p>\n

Cowden-Herrick\/Beecher City claimed a victory over South Central as two National Trail Conference teams met Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

The Bobcats came out a 62-48 winner. CHBC held a 15-6 openiing quarter lead and led 29-24 at halftime as the Cougars came back with an 18-14 run.<\/p>\n

But CHBC finished strong with a 33-24 second half.<\/p>\n

Macee Rodman led the winners with 22 points on six field goals, two from three-point range, and eight of 10 at the line. Lena Bowlin added 11 on four field goals and three of four at the line. Haley Doty added nine.<\/p>\n

South Central was led by Kaitlyn Swift with 18 points on six field goals, five of those from three-point range, and one of two at the line. Percilla Reid added eight points.<\/p>\n

In the junior varsity contest, South Central was a 15-10 winner in two quarters of play.<\/p>\n

Baylee Brown led the winners with five points.<\/p>\n

CHBC was led by Laney Doty and Allison Shields with four each.<\/p>\n

Dieterich easily handled Webber Township (Bluford) by a 65-30 count Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

The Maroons took a 16-10 opening quarter lead and then went on a 21-9 second period run to lead 37-19 at halftime.<\/p>\n

Addison Miller led the winners with 20 points on eight field goals and two free throws. She connected on two three-pointers.<\/p>\n

Also in double figures was Callie Faller with 10 while Brittney Niemerg added eight.<\/p>\n

Miller led in rebounds with seven and steals with six. Kady Tegeelr also had six steals. Niemerg and Tegeler had three assists each. Niemerg led in blocked shots with three.<\/p>\n
