In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Edgewood American Legion Post 1168, St. Jude\u2019s Children\u2019s Research Hospital, or the donor\u2019s choice.<\/p>\n<p>Wilbert was born on September 23, 1950 in Jackson Township, Effingham County, the son of John Oddress Higgs and Rose Mary (Yingst) Higgs. He married Sandra Webster on September 26, 1970. Wilbert enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing and time spent with family, especially the hugs from his great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>Wilbert is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sandy Higgs of Mason; son, Jerry D. (Charity) Higgs of Mason; daughter, Rhonda L. (Daniel) Weidner of Farina; Grandchildren, Wesley Weidner (Stormie Prater) of Farina, Erica Higgs (Cohen Collins) of Mason, John J. Higgs (Renee) of Evansville, Indiana, Travis Weidner (Justin Dulaney) of Ashford, Alabama; Greatgrandchildren, Waylon James Dean Higgs and Silas Spracklin; Sisters, Marilyn O\u2019Leary of Edgewood, Barbara Webster (Robert) of Mason, Darlene Dillingham of Port Richey, Florida, and many nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends.<\/p>\n<p>Wilbert was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rose Mary Higgs; brothers, Larry Higgs and Duane Higgs; brother-in-law, Roland O\u2019Leary; sisters-in-law Vera Higgs and Wanda Higgs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wilbert died on Monday, July 21<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":14602,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[21],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-14601","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-obits"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 -
