South of Fayette, work is wrapping up between Fayette and Grove Avenues at the intersections.<\/p>\n<p>Hemmen said striping will hopefully begin around the first of August. He is hopeful that Phase One will be completed by the end of August.<\/p>\n<p>As far as Phase Two, Greg Jamerson of IDOT said that construction plans on the project should be completed on time. Jamerson said that land acquisition will be completed &#8220;hopefully this year.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>That means that taking down buildings and relocating utilities will take place in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Jamerson now feels the letting of the construction portion of the work will be in June or September of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Phase Two will now involve reconstruction of Fayette, east from the underpass, with two lanes of travel in each direction and a center turn lane, returning to three lanes at Cruiser&#8217;s. Jamerson said that Fayette will be resurfaced from Cruiser&#8217;s to Salt Creek to complete the project.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Phase One of the Fayette Avenue reconstruction project is in the home stretch.
