The Hearts remained close on free throws, connecting on seven of 10 in the quarter.<\/p>\n<p>The Braves came back with a 15-12 third period to pull ahead 33-32 going into the final quarter. Anderson went on a run, hitting three baskets and a free throw for nine points.<\/p>\n<p>But the Hearts got back on track with a 14-9 final period. Wolfe hit a three-pointer, a regular basket and three of four at the line for eight points while Martin connected on a basket and two free throws.<\/p>\n<p>Two players finished in double digits for the Hearts. Wolfe tallied 19 with six field goals, one a three-pointer and five of six at the line. Martin chipped in with 11.<\/p>\n<p>The Hearts were 13 of 17 at the line for the contest.<\/p>\n<p>Mount Zion was led by Anderson with 11 points.<\/p>\n<p>Effingham improved to 5-0 in the conference and 15-3 overall. The Hearts are back in action Tuesday at Taylorville in a game that can be heard on 979XFM.<\/p>\n<p>In the junior varsity contest, Effingham was a 51-31 winner. The Bulldogs only trailed by three after halftime, 27-24.<\/p>\n<p>But Okawville went on a third quarter 14-2 run to lead 41-26 going into the final period.<\/p>\n<p>Okawville had two players in double figures, Brynn Rhodes with 15 and Kinley Hackstadt with 11.<\/p>\n<p>St. Anthony was led by Nancy Ruholl with 14 points. She hit five baskets, one a three-pointer and was three of three at the line.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was a great test for us to kick off the second half of the season,&#8221; said Coach Rios.<\/p>\n<p>The Bulldogs are now 13-4 on the season and 4-0 in the National Trail Conference. Hackstadt 2, J. ackstadt 2, Rhodes 2).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>At Woodlawn<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Altamont traveled to Woodlawn and suffered a 47-43 loss Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The Indians held a 10-7 opening quarter lead as Ella Nelson and Reagan Kuenstler knocked in a three-pointer each and Kaylee Lurkins hit two baskets for four points.<\/p>\n<p>Altamont led 21-17 at halftime. Kuenstler hit another three-pointer while Sophia Pearcy also put in a three-pointer.<\/p>\n<p>The Indians were ahead 36-30 after three quarters. Kylie Osteen scored on two baskets and two free throws for six while Avery Aldrich added five points.<\/p>\n<p>But the bottom dropped out for Altamont in the final quarter as Woodlawn came back with a 17-7 final period to pull out the victory.<\/p>\n<p>Osteen led Altamont with 12 points on three field goals and five of 10 at the line. Kuenstler and Aldrich added nine points each.<\/p>\n<p>In junior varsity action, Woodlawn was a 21-19 winner as the two teams played just a half game.<\/p>\n<p>Altamont was led by Justyce Higgs with 11 points.<\/p>\n<p><strong>At Woodlawn<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>ALTAMONT (43)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So. Chloe Probst added four points.<\/p>\n<p>But Carlyle had an 11-10 third quarter edge and finished with an 8-7 final quarter for the win.<\/p>\n<p>Two players finished in double figures for the Shoes. Anna Probst hit four baskets, one a three-pointer, and was two of two at the line for 11 points. She scored all 11 in the second half. C.
