CHARLESTON — Altamont High School’s Ben Roedl is a Class 1A State track champion and finished with three medals. The Indians ended in fifth place as a team.<\/p>\n

Roedl competed in three events at the Class 1A State Track Meet at Eastern Illinois University’s O’Brien Stadium. Roedl claimed first place in the triple jump with a leap of 13.98 meters.<\/p>\n

Roedl took second in the high jump. He had a preliminary jump of 1.83 meters then came back in the finals going 1.97 meters to finish second.<\/p>\n

Roedl was third in the long jump prelims with a leap of 6.74 meters and took third in the finals with that distance.<\/p>\n

Altamont’s Hayden Summers finished fourth in the prelims and then tallied a sixth place finish in the finals of the 300 hurdles in 40.24 seconds.<\/p>\n

Teutopolis High School’s Karson Zerrusen ended with a fifth place finish in the 110 hurdles in 14.98 seconds.<\/p>\n

Brownstown\/St. Elmo’s Trenten Monnet finished fourth in the shot with a throw of 16.15 meters.<\/p>\n

Effingham St. Anthony’s Calvin Sudkamp took eighth place in the finals of the high jump at 1.88 meters.<\/p>\n

Dieterich’s Trevor Crtucher claimed eighth in the 3200 in 9:55.28 min.<\/p>\n
