ALTAMONT — Stewardson-Strasburg handed Altamont two losses in boys junior high basketball Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

Stew-Stras claimed the seventh-grade contest, 59-13, taking a 20-0 opening quarter lead and never looking back.<\/p>\n

Three players finished in double figures for the winners. Pruemer led the way with 14 points while Richter and Howe scored 10 each.<\/p>\n

Altamont was led by Jack Neu with four points.<\/p>\n

In the eighth-grade contest, Stew-Stras captured a 36-24 victory.<\/p>\n

Stew-Stras held a 22-11 halftime lead and had a 14-13 second half edge.<\/p>\n

Vonderheide finished with 10 for the winners while Hille and Kaufman added eight each.<\/p>\n

Altamont was led by Bannister with 10.<\/p>\n

Jasper County fell to Lawrenceville in both seventh- and eighth-grade action Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

Lawrenceville ran out to a 17-4 opening quarter lead in seventh-grade play and won 38-19.<\/p>\n

Trace Cornwell led Jasper County with seven points. Maverik Horner was the top rebounder. Alex Keller was the top defender and Noah Kurtz the top passer.<\/p>\n

Jasper County dropped to 4-10.<\/p>\n

In eighth-grade play, Lawrenceville won 42-3.<\/p>\n

Hank Huber led Jasper County with 10 points and was the top rebounder along with Brendan Emmerich. Chase Kistner was the top passer.<\/p>\n

Cowden-Herrick\/Beecher City picked up two victories over Dieterich in Tuesday evening action.<\/p>\n

CHBC won the seventh-grade game 30-23. CHBC took an 18-15 haltime lead then had a 9-2 third quarter run.<\/p>\n

Lane Reed led with nine points.<\/p>\n

Dieterich was led by Swingler with nine points.<\/p>\n

In the eighth-grade contest, the Bobcats were 41-32 winners. CHBC had a 16-7 second period after trailing 9-4.<\/p>\n

Kaisyn Calame led the winners with 16 points while Zach Bennett added nine.<\/p>\n

Dieterich was led by Goeckner with 15 and McQueen with 10.<\/p>\n

Neoga was a winner in both games over Ramsey Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

Neoga won the seventh-grade game, 40-28. Ramsey held an 11-8 opening quarter lead but Neoga came back to pull ahead 20-15 at halftime and had a 12-7 final quarter run.<\/p>\n

Baylor Matusas led the way for the winners with 24 points.<\/p>\n

In eighth-grade action, Neoga won 29-17. Neoga led 13-10 at haltime and had a 16-7 second half.<\/p>\n

Brody Strobl led with 11 points while Benji Strobl chipped in with nine.<\/p>\n
