FLORA — Effingham St. Anthony edged Flora in high school tennis action Monday, 5-4.<\/p>\n

The Bulldogs claimed No. 4 through No. 6 singles wins. Manaye Mossman was a 7-5, 6-2 winner over Jordan Gocey. Joey Trupiano downed Luke Powless 6-2, 7-5 at No. 4. Jackson Schultz won the No. 5 spot by 6-7, 6-1, 10-4 counts and Connor Eggers downed his opponent, 3-6, 6-3, 12-10.<\/p>\n

In doubles play, the Bulldogs captured No. 1 as Mossman and Joey Trupiano combined to win 6-4, 6-0.<\/p>\n

In a junior varsity contest against Shelbyville, the Bulldogs won easily, 8-1.<\/p>\n

Max Gillenwater won the No. 2 singles match by outlasting his opponent, 6-2, 6-7 (5), 14-12. Charlie Hiatt blanked his opponent, 6-0, 6-0. Andrew Kull took No. 4, 6-3, 6-1 while Bodey Rietz downed his opponent, 6-4, 6-3. Isaac Fallert finished out the singles wins with a 6-2, 6-1 victory.<\/p>\n

Gillenwater and Jason Jones combined to win the top spot, 6-4, 6-7 (5), 10-6. Gabe Huebner and Rietz combined to win, 6-0, 6-1. Hiatt and Kull completed the doubles sweep with 6-1, 6-0 victories.<\/p>\n
