CHAMPAIGN — Effingham fell in eighth-grade action to Champaign Edison by a 58-29 count Saturday.<\/p>\n

Edison edged out to an 8-7 opening quarter lead then went on a 23-6 second period run to put the contest away.<\/p>\n

Effingham had one player in double figures, Dagg Thompson with 10 points.<\/p>\n

At Champaign<\/strong><\/p>\n

At Teutopolis<\/strong><\/p>\n

Teutopolis played host to Taylorville and Mahomet-Seymour Saturday.<\/p>\n

T-town was a winner in both seventh- and eighth-grade action against Taylorville.<\/p>\n

The Wooden Shoes took a 13-3 opening quarter lead on Taylorville in the seventh-grade game and finished out with a 38-15 victory.<\/p>\n

Giles led the way for the Shoes with 14 points.<\/p>\n

In eighth-grade action, T-town won 45-20.<\/p>\n

S. Probst tallied 12 while Goeckner added nine and Niemerg eight for the Shoes.<\/p>\n

Mahomet-Seymour then downed Taylorville twice.<\/p>\n

Mahomet-Seymour claimed the seventh-grade contest, 54-37 and won in eighth-grade play, 37-13.<\/p>\n

T-town then fell to Mahomet-Seymour.<\/p>\n

The Shoes lost in seventh-grade action, 35-27. Pete Brummer scored 10 for the Shoes while Connor Althoff added nine.<\/p>\n

In the eighth-grade game, Mahomet-Seymour won 52-32.<\/p>\n

Goeckner scored 14 for the Shoes.<\/p>\n

At Teutopolis<\/strong><\/p>\n
