State Representative Brad Halbrook is teaming up with his colleagues, State Representatives Adam Niemerg and Blaine Wilhour to provide a free senior fair to area seniors.<\/p>\n

The event will take place on Tuesday, June 17th from 9am-11am, at the National Guard Armory in Effingham, at 1206 West Temple Avenue.<\/p>\n

\u201cRepresentatives Niemerg, Wilhour, and I are pleased to reintroduce this event that provides so many connections to our seniors,\u201d said Rep. Halbrook.\u00a0 \u201cWe understand the difficulty seniors may have with accessing these resources independently, so we wanted to provide an opportunity for them to learn about the resources out there and speak with professionals all at one place.\u201d<\/p>\n

The fair is open to all area seniors to receive helpful guides, literature, and other resources from a variety of state, county, and local senior service agencies.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have been working to bring this popular event back since the Covid restrictions were imposed five years ago,\u201d said Rep. Wilhour.\u00a0 \u201cWe have a nice variety of vendors this year that provide services and programs available to the seniors in our area.\u00a0 I encourage you to come out and bring a friend.\u201d<\/p>\n

General Assembly members will be on hand to assist constituents with their state government concerns.\u00a0 Attendees are strongly encouraged to sign in for a chance to win a door prize.\u00a0 Complimentary refreshments will be served.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot only will we have information from state agencies, like Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs, there will also be information on activities and services available through the Effingham Library, and some screenings by health care organizations,\u201d added Rep. Niemerg.<\/p>\n

No RSVP or entrance fee is required.<\/p>\n
