DESCRIPTION:Print \nThe Effingham County Health Department (ECHD) and Flying Buddha Fitness invite the public to a free Stress Reduction Techniques Program on Thursday\, November 13\, at 5:30 p.m. at the Effingham Public Library’s Workman Room. \nThe program will be led by Vicki Funneman\, certified yoga instructor with Flying Buddha Fitness\, who will guide participants through simple mindfulness and relaxation techniques proven to reduce stress and improve overall wellness. \nCatherine Bailey from the Effingham County Health Department will also share important information about breast cancer prevention and early detection.  Participants will learn about the benefits of regular mammograms and practical ways to reduce their breast cancer risk.  Educational materials from the Know Your Lemons Foundation will be available\, including squeezable “lemon” models that mimic the feel of a cancerous lump. \nThe event is funded by a Carolyn Adams Ticket for the Cure – Community Outreach Grant from the Illinois Department of Public Health. \nRegistration is required for this free program.  To register or learn more\, contact Catherine Bailey at the Effingham County Health Department at 217-342-1134.

DESCRIPTION:Print \nIt’s our Second annual TRIVIA Night Fundraiser for the Youth Group at First Presbyterian Church!  Please join us at 600 West Temple Avenue in Effingham for an evening of fun! \nWe will have bonus points available for bonus balloon questions.  The first balloon is $3.  Each additional balloon needed will be $1 each.  You get the balloon bonus question correct\, you keep the balloon.  You get the question incorrect\, you pop your balloon\, and would need to purchase another to have a chance at the next bonus balloon question\, and so on.  The first place team will get a prize. \nWe will provide Lemonade\, Tea\, Water\, and Popcorn. \nWe will be holding a bake sale\, so baked goods will be available to purchase. \nCurrently we are selling Christmas Wreaths and they will be available to purchase as well.  Delivery will be during the week of Thanksgiving. \nWe would appreciate your signup ahead of time if possible.  Someone will be in the church office Tuesday through Thursday from 10am to 3pm to pay entry fees and get your name on the list.  We will also take entry fees at the door.
