DESCRIPTION:Three Chicks & A Stage present an original production “Krampus\, The Untold Story” at the Effingham Elks Club on December 12th\, 13th and 14th. \nFriday\, December 12th will be a dinner show with dinner starting at 6:00pm and the show starting at 7:00pm.  The $40 ticket for the dinner show must be purchased in advance and covers both the cost of the catered meal and the show.  There will also be show-only tickets available for the Friday night performance. \nThe December 13th and 14th performances will be show-only performances.  On Saturday\, December 13th\, the doors will open at 6:30 and curtain will be at 7:00pm.  On Sunday\, December 14th\, the doors will open at 1:30 and curtain will be at 2:00pm.  With the exception of the Friday night dinner\, show tickets can be purchased at the door or at designated locations. \nTickets are available at the Effingham Elks (2102 S. DESCRIPTION:A new exhibit highlighting the courageous stories of freedom seekers and the multi-racial conductors who assisted them on the Underground Railroad in Illinois are featured in a new exhibit Journey to Freedom:  Illinois’ Underground Railroad.  This will be on display in the Lincoln Log Cabin State Historic Site’s Visitor Center – Sargent Gallery\, now through December 31. \nThis exhibit tells selected stories of freedom seekers\, conductors and communities in Illinois that were part of the journey to freedom on the Illinois Underground Railroad.  Using photos\, videos\, maps\, personal stories\, and illustrations created specifically for the exhibit\, visitors will learn the about the people and communities who took part in this hidden history.  Highlighted stories include freedom seekers John and Eliza Little\, who traveled barefoot through Illinois to Canada to gain their freedom\, or conductors like Henry who worked for Abraham Lincoln\, and Mary Ann King Brown who helped the enslaved to freedom in the Springfield\, Quincy and Galena areas.  Many of the known communities are included\, from Cairo through Springfield to Quincy and Chicago.  Other featured areas are Brooklyn/Freedom Village\, Miller Grove\, Rocky Fork\, Galesburg\, Mount Hope\, Jacksonville\, and New Philadelphia. \n Journey to Freedom:  Illinois’ Underground Railroad is proudly presented by The Abraham Lincoln National Heritage Area\, also known as Looking for Lincoln. \nThe Lincoln Log Cabin State Historic Site is located at 402 South Lincoln Highway Road\, Lerna\, IL  62440.  For more information call 217-345-1845\, or visit lincolnlogcabin.org

DESCRIPTION:The Gym Bob’s Jamboree CHRISTMAS Show will be held on Sunday\, December 7th\, beginning at 1:00pm! \nThis will be our annual “Christmas Show” featuring all your favorite Christmas Standards as well as some of your favorite classic country and 50’s & 60’s music for the whole family to enjoy – performed by the Gym Bob’s Jamboree Band and Singers.  Santa Claus and his helpers will also be stopping by for the show!  It will be an afternoon filled with fun and music – so make sure you mark your calendars to attend! \nThe Jamboree Show is held the first Sunday afternoon of the month at Gym Bob’s\, located at 44 Apostle Lane in Bible Grove. \nReservations are not necessary but can be made by calling 615-481-7418. \nMore information may also be found online at http://www.GymBobs.com

SUMMARY:Christmas Concert - Coles County Chorus
DESCRIPTION:The Coles County Chorus is delighted to announce its annual Christmas Concert\, a festive celebration of the holiday season filled with timeless carols\, harmonious performances\, and community spirit.  This free event promises to uplift hearts and support local causes\, making it a perfect outing for families\, friends\, and music lovers alike. \nThe concert will take place on Sunday\, December 7th\, at the Wesley United Methodist Church\, 2206 4th Street in Charleston.  Doors open at 2:30 PM\, with the performance beginning promptly at 3:00 PM. \nAdmission is free\, though a free-will donation will be collected at the door.  All proceeds from these generous contributions will benefit Coles County food banks and homeless shelters\, helping to provide essential support to those in need during the holiday season. \nAttendees can look forward to a captivating program featuring beloved holiday songs performed by the Coles County Chorus\, including: \n• “Caroling\, Caroling”\n• “Deck the Halls” (with guest singers from Coles County and the surrounding area)\n• “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”\n• “Mary Did You Know”\n• “Oh! Holy Night”\n• “Silent Night”\n• “Sleigh Ride”\n• “(Everybody’s Waitin’ for) The Man With the Bag” \nAdding to the afternoon’s magic\, special guest performers will join the chorus on stage\, including appearances by the Huckleberry Friends Quartet\, Tinnitus Quartet\, and talented students from the Mt. Zion High School Barbershop Chorus Program.  These collaborations will bring a unique blend of vocal styles and youthful energy to the festivities. \nThe Coles County Chorus (CCC)\, a registered chapter of The Barbershop Harmony Society\, was founded in 1970 and boasts 32 active members.  The group meets every Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM at the United Christian Church\, 200 E Lafayette Ave\, Mattoon\, Illinois\, and invites men to join them at any Tuesday rehearsal. \nRecently\, CCC joined with The Sound of Illinois Barbershop Chorus to compete in the Barbershop Harmony Illinois District convention\, and took first place in the competition with two original barbershop arrangements of songs from “Elf The Musical.”  Looking ahead\, CCC will team up with The Sound of Illinois again to perform and compete at the 2026 Barbershop Harmony Society International Convention in St. Louis on July 3rd and 4th. \nFor more information\, including directions\, updates or joining the CCC singers at a rehearsal\, please contact Charlie Niehaus at cniehausacusd@gmail.com or call 618-335-9237.
