Effingham St. Anthony went 25-21, 25-15 to down Neoga in a National Trail Conference volleyball match Tuesday evening.

Haylee Mathis led the Bulldogs in assists with 18 and blocks with four. Rachel Schultz had six digs. Lauren Wente had six kills and two aces.

The Bulldogs also claimed the junior varsity match 6-25, 25-16, 25-20.

At Neoga

At Beecher City

Stewardson-Strasburg went two games in downing Beecher City 25-11, 25-8 in National Trail Conference action.

"We started off a litte slow tonight letting Beeecher City start with a lead but then our serving kicked in with Brittani Tabbert taking a five point stretch followed by Sarah Locke with nine points," said Stew-Stras Coach Ronda Schlechte. "In game two, Kendall Knop added six aces from her nine point streak.The girls really increased their confidence with some strong hitting which, hopefully, will pull us through the game Thursday against Altamont."

Kendall Knop and Brittani Tabbert had six aces each for the winners. Lindsay Burton had six kills while Becca Schlechte had eight assists. Knop led in digs with four.

Beecher City was led by Kirsten Buzzard with four digs and two kills and Kacie Hilt with three assists.

In junior varsity play, Stew-Stras won 25-16, 25-23 to improve to 4-0.

At Bluford

North Clay (Louisville) defeated Webber Township (Bluford) 25-12, 25-10. In the junior varsity contest, the Cardinals also won 25-10, 25-20.

 

At Cisne

Wayne City traveled to Cisne but the Runnin' Lions were the winners in varsity action 25-23, 25-17.

In the junior varsity match, Wayne City won 25-11, 25-21.
