Stewardson-Strasburg will be playing for the Class 8-2A St. Elmo/Brownstown Volleyball Regional championship after picking up a victory Wednesday evening.

Stew-Stras downed Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, 25-10, 25-6.

Karly Wetherell led in aces with six. Edie Wittenberg had six kills. Kendra Hayes was the assist leader with 12. Claire VonBehrens had two digs.

Assumption Central A&M won the second match over South Central, 25-21, 25-13.

Stew-Stras and Assumption Central A&M will meet at 6 p.m. today for the regional crown.

Class 8-2A St. Elmo/Brownstown Regional

Stewardson-Strasburg -- Hayes, 5 aces, 12 assists, 5 kills; VonBehrnes, 2 digs, 3 assists, 3 kills; Kull, 3 aces, 1 dig, 3 kills; Wetherell, 6 aces, 4 digs, 2 kills; Wittenberg, 1 dig, 6 kills

 

Class 8-1A Sigel St. Michael Regional

Scores came in for the regional Tuesday. Sigel St. Michael defeated Newton St. Thomas, 25-18, 25-16.

In the second match, Grayville won over West Salem, 25-19, 18-25, 25-16.

St. Michael and Grayville will meet tonight at 6 for the regional championship.

 

Class 8-3A Casey-Westfield Regional

Teutopolis wlil be playing for the championship of this regional.

The Wooden Shoes will take on Casey-Westfield at 6:30 p.m. today.

 

Class 8-2A Hutsonville Regional

Paris Crestwood and Hutsonville will square off for the regional championship after matches Wednesday.

Paris Crestwood won over Oblong, 25-18, 25-14.

Hutsonville then downed Edwards County (Albion), 13-25, 25-17, 25-21.

 

Class 4A Mount Zion Regional

Taylorville and Rochester will be meeting for the crown of this regional today.

The two teams will meet at 6 p.m. for the championship.
