Stewardson-Strasburg captured the championship of the Class 7-2A Assumption Central A&M Regional.

Stewardson-Strasburg won the championship of the Class 7-2A Assumption Central A&M Regional Tuesday evening.

The squad downed South Central, 27-25, 25-20.

Edie Wittenberg led in digs with nine and kills with seven. Jackie Vonderheide and Karly Wetherell had two aces each. Zoey Conder led in assists with two.

Stewardson-Strasburg will head on to the St. Anthony Sectional Monday, March 6 and take on Oblong at 6:30 p.m.

Oblong defeated Paris Crestwood 25-9, 25-23 to win the 7-2A Oblong Regional Tuesday.

Class 7-3A Teutopolis Regional

Teutopolis had to go three sets but pulled out the win over Robinson Nuttall to claim the championship of its own Class 7-3A Regional Tuesday.

T-town won the opener 25-20 before Robinson Nuttall came back to win 25-20. T-town then won the match 25-23.

"The first set saw Robinson with a six point lead before Ella Willenborg went back and served nine straight points," said T-town Coach Jim Dietz. "The third set was similar but with Alicen Niemerg chipping in two aces as well.

"Also both teams were playing 'real' volleyball. The two teams combined for 94 attacks on the night, this is insanely great for seventh-graders."

The Wooden Shoes advance to the Casey-Westfield Sectional Monday and will face either Pana or Paris Mayo at 6:30 p.m. Those two teams play for the regional championship of the Pana Regional Thursday.
