Stewardson-Strasburg won its own Class 8-1A Volleyball Regional. Stewardson-Strasburg captured the championship of its own Class 8-1A Volleyball Regional Tuesday.

Stew-Stras defeated Effingham Sacred Heart, 25-10, 25-15.

Stew-Stras now moves on to the Sigel St. Michael Sectional Monday to face the winner of the Sigel St. Michael Regional at 6:30 p.m.

Championship

Stewardson-Strasburg -- Claire Holland, 1 dig, 6 assists; Aubree Antrim, 4 digs, 5 kills, 1 block, 2 aces; Meredith Dailey, 2 digs, 4 kills, 1 ace; Lauren Longwell, 3 digs, 1 kill; Payton Durbin, 1 dig, 3 kills; Heavenlee Vonderheide, 1 dig; Katie Linder, 2 aces; Kinley Chaney, 2 aces; Kendra Hayes, 4 digs, 5 assists, 4 kills, 4 aces

 

Class 8-2A St. Elmo/Brownstown Regional

The finals are now set for the St. Elmo/Brownstown Regional after two matches were contested Tuesday.

Edwards County (Albion) downed St. Elmo/Brownstown, 28-26, 25-18 in the first set.

In the second set, Effingham St. Anthony defeated South  Central, 25-7, 26-24.

St. Anthony and Edwards County heads to to the championship match Thursday at 6 p.m. The winner advances to the Casey-Westfield Sectional Monday.

 

Class 8-2A Assumption Central A&M Regional

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City is still alive in this regional.

CHBC defeated Decatur Robertson in two close sets, 26-24, 26-24.

In the other two matches, Assumption Central A&M won over Findlay Okaw Valley, 25-23, 25-16 and Edinburg downed Decatur Johns Hill, 25-12, 25-11.

CHBC will meet Edinburg at 7 p.m. today while Assumption Central A&M takes on top-seeded Decatur Montessori Academy for Peace at 6. The winners advance to the championship Thursday at 6 p.m.

 

Class 8-2A Paris Crestwood Regional

The last local team in the Paris Crestwood Regional fell Tuesday.

Dieterich lost to Oblong, 25-9, 25-11.

In the other contest, Casey-Westfield derailed Paris Crestwood, 22-25, 25-7, 25-20.

Oblong and Casey-Westfield now meet for the regional championship today at 6 p.m.

 

Class 8-3A Paris  Mayo Regional

Jasper County moved into the championship match of the Paris Mayo Regional.

Jasper County defeated Marshall, 25-18, 25-22.

In the second match, Teutopolis fell to Robinson Nuttall, 25-23, 25-16. The Wooden Shoes ended the season with an 11-7 record.

Jasper County and Robinson Nuttall now meet for the championship today at 6:30 p.m. The winner advances to the Teutopolis Sectional Monday.

Class 8-3A Paris Mayo Regional

Teutopolis -- Ava Ruholl, 2 digs; Olivia Wittenmyer, 4 kills, 2 digs; Olivia Kemme, 4 aces, 1 kill, 3 digs, 1 block; Allie Ruholl, 1 ace, 2 assists, 1 dig; Anna Probst, 1 ace, 6 assists, 1 kill; Madison Miller, 1 assist, 5 kills; Olivia Wermert, 2 aces, 2 digs

Jasper County-- Reich, 5 aces, 2 kills, 2 digs; Meinhart, 3 aces, 1 kill, 1 assist; Holder, 3 aces, 1 kill, 7 assists; Michl, 1 ace, 1 kill, 1 assist; Deckard, 1 ace; Will, 3 kills, 1 dig; Mitchell, 2 kills, 1 assist, 3 digs; Marshall, 2 kills, 2 digs

 

Class 8-4A Rochester Regional

Effingham ended its season in the Rochester Regional with a loss to the host squad Tuesday.

The Mustangs lost the opener 25-9 but came back to take the second set 28-26. Rochester then won the match 25-22.

In the opener, Taylorville downed Mount Zion, 25-12, 25-18.

Taylorville and Rochester will meet for the regional championship today at 5 p.m.

Class 8-4A Rochester Regional

Effingham -- Alyssa Martin, 7 kills, 1 assist, 6 digs; Averie Wolf, 1 kill, 2 assists, 11 digs; Berkley Pullen, 4 kills, 21 assists, 2 aces, 1 block, 5 digs; Ella Tuman, 1 kill, 1 assist, 2 aces, 1 block, 7 digs; Natalie Armstrong, 2 kills, 4 aces, 1 block, 3 digs; Ryley Engel, 4 kills, 1 assist, 2 aces, 4 digs; McKenzie Love, 9 kills, 1 block
