Seventh-Grade Regionals -- March 3

The Wooden Shoes fell in the opening set to Jasper County, 25-16. But T-town rallied and came back with a 25-17 second set. T-town then claimed the match and the regional championship with a 25-13 score.

T-town is now 14-4 on the season and will travel to the Tuscola East Prairie Sectional to face Arthur, a 27-25, 21-25, 26-24 win over Shelbyville Moulton at the Sullivan Regional, at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

Class 7-2A Effingham St. Anthony Regional

South Central came out the champion of the Effingham St. Anthony Regional with a victory Thursday.

South Central defeated Edwards County (Albion) in two sets, 25-21, 25-15.

South Central advances to the St. Anthony Sectional Monday and will take on either Paris Crestwood or Casey-Westfield. Those two teams competed for the championship of the Casey-Westfield Regional. No scores have been turned in on the match.

South Central stands at 12-7 on the season.

Class 7-1A Sigel St. Michael Sectional

Stewardson-Strasburg and Sigel St. Michael also will be competing in a sectional Monday.

Stew-Stras won the Windsor Regional earlier in the week and advances with a 17-5 record while St. Michael won its own regional, also earlier in the week.

The two local squads will meet for the sectional Monday at 6:30 p.m.
