Stewardson Trinity captured second place at Kessler's Crossroads Classic Tournament. Effingham Junior High School claimed third place at the Kessler's Eighth-Grade Vollbeyball Classic Tournament Saturday.

The Mustangs defeated Massac County, 20-25, 25-16, 15-7 then lost to Hartsburg-Emden, 25-18, 18-25, 16-14. Effingham then claimed the third place contest over Mount Pulaski, 25-15, 25-12.

Stewardson Trinity competed and defeated Edwards County (Albion), 20-25, 25-10, 15-9 and then won over Mount Pulaski, 25-22, 25-17. The squad then fell to Hartsburg-Emden, 25-13, 25-23 to finish second. Trinity has a 17-2 record.

In the Effingham Seventh-Grade Round Robin Tournament, Effingham defeated Effingham St. Anthony, 25-9, 25-19 before losing to Edwards County (Albion), 25-12, 13-25, 15-8.
