Volleyball Seventh-Grade Sectionals -- March 9

Both area schools competing in Class 7-A sectionals went down to defeat Monday evening.

In the Class 7-1A Sigel St. Michael Sectional, Stewardson-Strasburg saw its season come to a close with a 25-14, 25-21 loss to Decatur Lutheran.

In the Class 7-2A Okaw Valley Sectional, Altamont fell to Edwards County (Albion), 25-14, 25-18.

Altamont ended the season with a 17-7 record.

At Flora

Clay City picked up victories over Flora Monday evening.

In the seventh-grade contest, Flora won the opener 25-20 but Clay City came back with 25-13, 15-11 sets for the match.

The eighth-grade contest went to Clay City, 25-10, 25-18. Clay City is now 14-1 on the season.

In the C contest, Clay City was a winner, 25-22, 25-18.

Clay City will host Allendale tonight during eighth-grade recognition night.
