Altamont advanced to the championship of the Clas 7-2A Effingham St. Anthony Volleyball Regional with a victory Monday evening.

 

Altamont downed the host Bullpups in three sets. The Wildcats claimed the opener 25-23. St. Anthony took the second set, 25-18. Altamont then won the match, 25-18.

In the opening contest of the evening, Findlay Okaw Valley won over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, 25-20, 25-15.

Altamont now takes on Findlay Okaw Valley at 6 p.m. Wednesday for the championship.

Class 7-2A St. Anthony Regional

Altamont -- Lemke, 12 kills, 6 aces, 9 digs, 1 block; Reardon, 4 kills, 2 aces, 10 digs; Klein, 4 kills, 3 aces, 4 digs, 5 assists; Hakman, 1 kill, 2 aces, 2 digs, 1 assist; Splechtor, 7 aces, 6 digs, 5 assists; Moore, 4 kills, 1 ace, 3 digs, 1 assist

 

Class 7-3A Macon Meridian Regional

Cumberland moved into the championship match with a victory at the Macon Meridian Regional Monday.

In the opening contest, Macon Meridian downed Shelbyville Moulton, 22-25, 25-17, 25-15.

The second match went to Cumberland over Arthur, 25-23, 25-13.

Cumberland now faces Macon Meridian at 6 p.m. Wednesday for the championship.

 

Class 4A Taylorville Regional

Effingham saw its season come to an end at the Taylorville Regional Monday.

The Mustangs fell to the host squad, 25-6, 25-11 in the championship match. Effingham finishes the season with a 20-3 record.

Taylorville advances to the Effingham Sectional to take on the winner of the Mahomet-Seymour Regional. Semifinals in that regional will be tonight with the championship set for Thursday.

Class 4A Taylorville Regional

Effingham -- Kreke, 2 digs; Franklin, 1 dig; Bierman, 4 digs; Beals, 3 digs; Thompson, 1 kill, 1 assist, 2 digs; Stone, 1 kill, 1 ace, 1 dig; Donaldson, 1 assist, 5 digs; Harvey, 1 kill, 1 ace

 

Class 7-1A Decatur Lutheran Regional

Windsor moved on in the Decatur Lutheran Regional.

In the opening match, Windsor won over Decatur Our Lady of Lourdes, 25-16, 25-23.

The second match went to Decatur Holy Family over Mattoon St. John's, 25-12, 25-21. Decatur Garfield Montessori downed Bement, 25-16, 20-25, 25-13.

Windsor, seeded fifth, will now take on top-seeded Decatur Lutheran at 5 p.m. Thursday while Decatur Holy Family will meet Decatur Garfield Montessori at 6 p.m. The winners then meet for the championship at 7.

 

At Jasper/Geff

In regular season play, Clay City defeated Jasper/Geff in eighth-grade action, 25-23, 21-25, 15-10. Clay City is now 11-1 for the season and 7-0 in WEAA Conference play.

In seventh-grade action, Jasper/Geff won, 25-16, 25-18.

In the C match, Clay City downed Jasper/Geff, 25-18, 25-17.

Clay City is back in action Wednesday at New Hope.
