Effingham nabbed both seventh and eighth grade volleyball wins over Dieterich Thursday.

The Mustangs claimed the seventh-grade match, 25-13, 25-12 to improve to 8-1 on the season.

In eighth-grade play, Effingham won the opener 25-11 before Dieterich took the second set, 25-23. Effingham then won the match 25-17. The Mustangs are 5-4.

In a sixth-grade match, Dieterich won 39-15.

EJHS will be back in action Saturday at the Edwards County (Albion) Tournament.

At St. Anthony

Effingham St. Anthony nabbed two victories over Jasper County in Thursday action.

The Bullpups took the opening set of the seventh-grade match, 25-21. Jasper County came back with a 25-23 win. St. Anthony then claimed the match, 25-18.

In the eighth-grade contest, St. Anthony was a 25-7, 25-12 winner.

North Clay (Louisville) won over Altamont in both volleyball matches Thursday evening.

In the seventh-grade contest, North Clay was a winner, 25-16, 25-11. Altamont fell to 4-2 in the National Trail Conference, 6-4 overall.

In the eighth-grade match, North Clay won 25-12, 25-13. Altamont dropped to 0-6 in the conference, 0-9 overall.

Clay City won all three matches over Cisne Thursday evening.

Clay City took the seventh-grade contest, 25-7, 25-8.

In eighth-grade play, Clay City was a winner, 25-9, 25-4 to improve to 3-0 in WEAA Conference play and overall.

In the C contest, Clay City won 25-9, 26-24.
