Altamont finished second in the National Trail Conference eighth-grade volleyball tournament Saturday. Neoga captured the championship of the National Trail Conference Eighth-Grade Volleyball Tournament Saturday.

Finishing in second was Altamont while third went to Effingham Sacred Heart and Windsor claimed fourth.

Sacred Heart beat Stewardson-Strasburg 25-18, 25-3, lost to Neoga 25-14, 14-25, 15-14 and won over Windsor 25-10, 25-13.

Altamont beat Dieterich 27-25, 25-15, beat Windsor 25-23, 27-25 and lost to Neoga 25-21, 25-21.

Dieterich and Neoga split victories Friday in regular season competition.

Neoga claimed the eighth-grade match 25-10, 25-15. Dieterich dropped to 4-9 on the season.

In seventh-grade play, Dieterich won 20-25, 25-15, 26-24 to improve to 4-13.
