Lincoln Land Community College freshman setter Kate Volk of Teutopolis has been named to the 15-person 1st Team All-American squad.

Volk finished the season for the Loggers with 28 aces, 71 blocks, 438 digs, and 1,555 assists. Her 1,555 assists led all three divisions of the NJCAA and the total was also a single-season LLCC record. She also tallied six 50+ assist matches, a single-season and career record for Lincoln Land as well. The assist total for 2019 alone puts her eighth on the career assist list.

LLCC Coach Jim Dietz said, "I'm incredibly proud of Kate for this. She put a lot of work in. To come in as a freshman and have to learn a new offensive system and play calls, a new defense, and to do this against some of the best competition in the country, I think it speaks to her potential and her work ethic. The great thing is I know she won't rest on her laurels with this; it'll spur her to work harder for next year."

Volk is the third All-American setter for LLCC to come from the area, following Beka Pruemer of Stew-Stras in 2010 and Lainey Jackson of Cumberland in 2018.
