A sports event between Teutopolis and St. Anthony is always special.

Thursday night's volleyball game, though, will be even more meaningful.

Seniors on the Wooden Shoes volleyball squad wanted to do something in memory of their late classmate Elizabeth Waldhoff. The result is a benefit at Thursday's game. Funds raised will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House, which was a help to Elizabeth's family during the time of her illness.

The senior girls are Emma Deters, Savannah Grimes, Kate Volk, Katelyn Jansen and Julia Frey. They talked Monday morning with our Greg Sapp and videographer Zak Dietzen about Thursday's event...

Again, the Thursday volleyball game at Teutopolis will begin with fresh/soph action at 5pm, a JV game at about 6:15pm, and the varsity game at about 7:15pm. A reminder that everyone is invited to wear pink (which was Elizabeth's favorite color), there will be raffles for a YETI cooler and more, a 50/50 drawing, and a serving competition.
