ALTAMONT -- Effingham Junior High School claimed two volleyball victories over Altamont in action Thursday.

The Mustangs claimed the seventh-grade match, 25-17, 25-18. EJHS improves to 16-1 on the season.

In eighth-grade play, the Mustangs were 25-21, 25-16 winners and now sport a 14-1 record.

At Shelbyville

Shelbyville Moulton handed Teutopolis two losses in action Thursday.

Shelbyville won the seventh-grade match, 25-7, 25-11. T-town drops to 4-12 on the season.

In eighth-grade play, Shelbyville tallied a 25-21, 25-12 win. The Wooden Shoes fall to 6-8.

At St. Elmo

Stewardson-Strasburg and St. Elmo/Brownstown split victories Thursday evening.

SEB won the seventh-grade match, 25-19, 25-18.

In the eighth-grade contest, Stewardson-Strasburg picked up a 25-10, 25-17 win.

At Charleston

Jasper County picked up a loss and a victory in action at Charleston Thursday.

In the seventh-grade match, Jasper County won the opening set 27-25. Charleston came back to take the match with 25-17, 25-19 counts. Jasper County drops to 4-12.

Charleston took the opening set 25-16 in the eighth-grade contest but Jasper County came back with 25-9, 26-24 wins for the match and improves to 12-3.
