CASEY -- Effingham picked up both victories to remain unbeaten at 5-0 in junior high volleyball competition Monday evening.

The Mustangs won the seventh-grade match, 25-22, 25-23 to improve to 5-0.

In eighth-grade action, Effingham was a 25-20, 25-17 winner and is also 5-0.

Effingham will be back in action Thursday against Effingham St. Anthony.

Stewardson-Strasburg downed North Clay (Louisville) in seventh-grade play, 25-17, 25-16. Stew-Stras improves to 2-3.

In eighth-grade play, Stew-Stras was a winner, 25-21, 25-11 and is 1-4.

Sigel St. Michael picked up both victories over visiting Teutopolis Monday evening.

The Sharpshooters won the seventh-grade match, 25-11, 25-13. T-town drops to 0-4 on the season.

In eighth-grade play, T-town won the opener, 25-17 but St. Michael came back with 25-19, 25-18 scores for the win. T-town drops to 0-4.

Jasper County split victories with Marshall Monday evening.

Jasper County fell in the seventh-grade match, 25-18, 26-28, 25-14 to drop to 2-3.

In eighth-grade competition, Jasper County improved its record to 5-0 with an 8-25, 25-22, 25-20 win.
