CHBC, Dieterich Drop Volleyball Matches

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City fell to Okaw Valley in high school volleyball competition Monday evening.

Okaw Valley won the opener 25-23 then came back for a hard-fought 26-24 victory for the match.

CHBC was led by Haley Atchley with three aces and five kills. Lauren Wojcik had six kills and three blocks. Taylor Oldham had four assists. Olivia Witteborg had five digs.

CHBC won the junior varsity match 25-7, 25-20.

Oblong came calling and claimed a 25-23, 25-16 win over Dieterich in varsity volleyball action Monday.

Dieterich was led by Lauren Garbe with eight kills and five aces, Hannah Hunzinger with 14 assists and Nicole Flood with seven digs. The Movin' Maroons drop to 0-2 on the season.

Dieterich won the junior varsity match 22-25, 26-24, 25-19 to improve to 1-1.
