Effingham Junior High School fell to Charleston in the championship match of the Class 7-4A Mattoon Volleyball Regional Thursday evening.

The Mustangs lost 25-19, 25-22 to finish the season with an 18-5 record.

At Mattoon

Effingham -- Ballman, 2 assists, 9 digs; Angel, 3 assists, 4 digs; Budde, 7 assists, 2 aces, 4 digs; Bushur, 1 assist; Rothrock, 4 kills, 1 assist, 1 ace, 3 digs; Phillips, 1 assist, 2 aces, 1 dig; Chrappa, 7 kills, 1 ace, 12 digs; Walls, 3 aces, 3 digs; Sowell, 5 kills, 1 block

 

Class 7-3A Paris Mayo Regional

Jasper County advanced as the champion from the Paris Mayo Regional Thursday.

Jasper County defeated Robinson Nuttall 25-18, 25-20. Jasper County now advances to the Teutopolis Sectional where the team will take on Cumberland Monday at 6:30 p.m.

Class 7-3A Shelbyville Moulton Regional

Cumberland claimed the championship at the Shelbyville Moulton Regional Thursday.

Cumberland defeated Tuscola East Prariie 25-4, 25-13 and will now face Jasper County at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the Teutopolis Sectional.

 

Class 7-2 Effingham St. Anthony Regional

Edwards County (Albion) defeated Ramsey for the championship of the St. Anthony Regional.

Edwards County won the opener 25-13 but Ramsey came back with a 25-11 victory. Edwards County then went out at 25-21.

Edwards County advances to the Neoga Sectional Monday to face Hutsonville at 6:30 p.m.

 

Class 7-2A Findlay Okaw Valley Regional

Hutsonville handed Oblong a loss to win the championship of the Findlay Okaw valley Regional.

Hutsonville claimed the match in two sets, 25-18, 25-10.

Hutsonville advances to the Neoga Sectional and will take on Edwards County Monday at 6:30 p.m.
