Effingham and Teutopolis split victories in junior high volleyball action Monday evening.

The Mustangs were a winner in seventh-grade play, 25-10, 25-23 to improve to 2-0 on the season. T-town dropped to 1-1.

Mattie Angel and Rylee Rothrock tallied three kills each for the winners. Grace Bushur had five assists. Tori Budde led in aces with eight. Sawyer Althoff and Megan Ballman had two digs each. T-town was led by Macy Swingler with four aces, Izzy Hardiek with two blocks and Jaden Deters with two digs.

In eighth-grade action, T-town claimed the victory, 25-12, 25-20 to improve to 1-1. EHS drops to 0-2.

Carly Michels had four blocks while Abby Niemerg led in aces with six for the winners. Julia Probst had two kills. Effingham was led by Haley Diveley and Taylor Armstrong with three kills each. Allison Hodges had four assists. Diveley had three aces.

Jasper County picked up two victories over Lawrenceville Monday evening.

Jasper County won the seventh-grade match 25-23, 25-15 to improve to 1-1. Russell led in aces with 10. White led in kills with four and Kuhl had three assists.

In the eighth-grade match, Jasper County won 25-18, 25-13 and is 2-0 on the season. Frichtl tallied six aces and three kills. Chapman had six assists.
