ALTAMONT -- St. Elmo handed Altamont a loss in varsity volleyball action Monday evening.

The Eagles won 25-17, 25-16. Leading Altamont were White with six kills, one ace, one stuff block and two digs, Wendling with five assists and Kopplin with one stuff block. Altamont drops to 3-6 in the National Trail Conference, 6-14 overall.

In the junior varsity match, St. Elmo won 25-22, 25-20.

Newton defeated Oblong in varsity play, 25-15, 26-24. Leading the Eagles were Keidrah Hardiek with eight kills and two aces, Megan Jansen and Gabby Zerrusen with seven assists each and Emilee Johnson with six digs.

At Brownstown

Neoga defeated Brownstown 25-23, 25-22.

The Bombers were led by Bethany Oberlink with nine kills, Katie Kroll with nine assists and Brittany Kistler with six digs. The Bombers drop to 1-8 in the NTC, 6-13 overall.

At Windsor

Windsor played host to Cowden-Herrick and handed the Hornets a 25-12, 17-25, 27-25 loss. Jenny Bullock led the winners in kills with 10 and aces with five.

At Farina

South Central defeated Sandoval in two games, 25-11, 25-14.

At Greenup

Casey-Westfield came calling and picked up a Little Illini Conference victory over Cumberland.

Cumberland won the opener 25-23 before Casey-Westfield won 25-19, 25-21. Leading Cumberland were Kassidy Hunt with 14 kills and nine digs while Kamisha Holsapple had 25 assists, a kill and eight digs and Olivia Titus had 22 digs.

Cumberland is now 3-3 in the conference, 12-8 overall.
