Effingham High School hosted "Volley for the Cure" on August 28.

Effingham and St. Anthony high schools competed in the cure for cancer event.  Cure for Cancer T-shirts were sold.  All proceeds from the shirts sales and the gate receipts were donated to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital's Women's Health Center to assist in the fight against cancer. The event raised $2,064 this year.

In the five years that E.H.S. has hosted the event, $8,441.00 has been raised.

On September 10, senior volleyball members from both teams presented a check to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital's Women's Health Center.
