Effingham St. Anthony downed Altamont in National Trail Conference volleyball action Tuesday evening at The Enlow Center.

The Bulldogs won 25-20, 25-16. Megan Nuxoll led in digs with 11 and blocks with three. Jena Woltman had 25 assists. Logan Braunecker led the Bulldogs in kills with 14. Isabel Moore had two aces.

Altamont was a winner in the junior varsity contest 25-22, 25-21.

At Taylorville

Effingham picked up a victory over Taylorville 25-19, 11-25, 25-19. Felicia Totten led the Hearts in assists with 28. Chandler Ramey had 12 kills and nine digs. Brittany Beals led in blocks with four.

Taylorville nabbed the junior varsity match 25-23, 22-25, 25-21. The two squads tied in freshman play. Taylorville won the opener 27-25 and Effingham came back with an 11-4 win.

Teutopolis claimed a non-conference victory over Dieterich. The Wooden Shoes won 25-12, 25-22.

Dieterich was led by Faith Boerngen with eight points. Emilee Flach had three aces. Mallorie Vahling led in digs with six and kills with four. Hannah Hunzinger had five assists.

Teutopolis also won the junior varsity match 25-23, 25-20 and a freshman/sophomore contest 25-19, 25-18.

At Cowden

Stewardson-Strasburg pushed its National Trail Conference record to 8-0 on the season with a 25-12, 25-9 win over Cowden-Herrick.

"I was very impressed with our aggressive serving tonight," said Stew-Stras Coach Ronda Schlechte. "Our jump serving is looking really good. Overall the girls came out and played hard. Working our offense was our main goal tonight and they did great."

Kendall Knop led in aces with five for the winners and had eight assists and 11 digs. Becca Schlechte led in kills with seven. Stew-Stras is now 10-5 overall.

Cowden-Herrick won the junior varsity match 25-14, 25-18.

At Louisville

North Clay (Louisville) won both the junior varsity and varsity matches over Odin Tuesday evening.

North Clay was a 25-13, 25-15 winner in varsity play. The Cardinals won the JV match 25-21, 25-19.

 

At St. Elmo

St. Elmo/Brownstown picked up National Trail Conference wins over Beecher City.

SEB won 25-11, 25-13 in the varsity match. Beecher City was led by Caitlin Sloan with 12 digs, Leah Kelly with four kills and Sarah Kirchhofer with eight assists.

SEB also claimed the junior varsity match 25-7, 25-4.

At St. Elmo

At Newton

Newton improves its Little Illini Conference mark and its overall record with a 25-10, 25-13 win over Red Hill (Bridgeport).

Johnson led in aces with three. Kline had six kills and a block. Koebele led in assists with 11 and digs with seven. The Eagles are now 3-1 in the conference, 13-5 overall.

In the junior varsity match, Newton won 25-4, 25-8.

Windsor claimed a National Trail Conference win over Neoga, 25-15, 25-17. Autumn Bennett and Paige Wollard had seven kills each. Woolard led in digs with seven. Claire Pfeiffer had 14 assists.

Neoga was led by Olivia Ott with eight kills. Nikki Miah had 12 digs. Maddie Easton led in assists with 14.

Windsor also nabbed the junior varsity  match 25-20, 25-18.

Cumberland captured a Little Okaw Valley Conference Southeast Division win over Heritage. The Pirates won 25-7, 18-25, 25-18 to improve to 4-11 overall.

Jade McMechan led Cumberland in assists with 11. Jade Hutchcraft led in kills with eight and in aces with six.

Cumberland won the junior varsity contest, 25-13, 25-20.
