St. Anthony Wins Girls Track Meet, EHS Second In Girls, Boys Meets

The St. Anthony girls team won the Paris Track Relays Thursday.

PARIS -- Effingham St. Anthony captured first place in an eight-team girls track meet at the Paris Relays Thursday.

The Bulldogs tallied 168 points followed by Effingham 160, Charleston 84, Paris 74, Hume Shiloh 66, Marshall 40, Neoga 20 and Georgetown-Ridge Farm 1.

Mary Scheidemantel captured the high jump for the Bulldogs with a leap of 5 feet. 

Allison Geen and Anna Greene were 1-2 in the pole vault. Geen had a height of 11 feet, 3 inches while Greene was at 8-6.

Another St. Anthony 1-2 were Maggie Moeller in the triple jump at 30 ft. 9 in. and teammate Grace Niebrugge second at 29-8.

The Buldogs claimed the 3200 relay in 11:29.04 minutes. Team members were Emma Helmink, Jada Carpenter, Mollie Slifer and Stacie Vonderheide.

St. Anthony won the 400 relay in 53.85 seconds. Erin Stewart, Liv Hoene, Green and Moeller combined for the victory.

The 800 relay team of Stewart, Niebrugge, Audrey LaSarge and Hoene were winners at 1:56.99 minutes.

Effingham had six first place finishes in the meet. Morgan Springer won the 3200 with a time of 13:16.62 minutes. Taylor Greene claimed the 100 hurdles in 18.37 seconds.

Baylee Summers went 1:04.20 minutes in the 400 to win. Rylea Hodge won the 300 hurdles in 53.89 seconds. Jessica Larson claimed the 1600 in 5:34.88 minutes.

The Effingham 1600 relay team of Summers, Laney Myers, Allison Miller and Haddie Hill won in 4:30.05 minutes.

In the boys meet, Charleston was the winner with 168 points followed by Effingham 133, St. Anthony 118, Marshall 78, Paris 53, Danville Schlarman 50, Hume Shiloh 28, Georgetown-Ridge Farm 28 and Neoga 11.

Effingham's Garrett Wagoner was a winner in the 3200 with a time of 10:21.43 minutes.

Logan Heil claimed the 110 hurdles in 16.31 seconds. Caden Walls won the 100 in 11.54 seconds followed by teammate Muhammad Freeman second in 11.71.

Sam Spicer won the 800 in 2:08.42 minutes. Weldon Dunston captured the 200 in 23.85 seconds.

Effingham St. Anthony was a winner in the 3200 relay in 9:01.75 minutes. Members of the team were Aidan Braunecker, Conlan Walsh, Giovanni Bucio and Julius Ramos.

Max Sager claimed the 400 in 54.89 seconds for the Bulldogs while Efifngham's Adam Flack took second in 55.27.
