Michl Finishes Second For Millikin

The Millikin men’s and women’s track and field team turned in several strong performances at its own Millikin Big Blue Classic Saturday in Decatur. No team scores were kept in the event.
Senior LeAnn Spesard (Paris, H.S.) won the shot put in 13.71 meters and was first in the discus at 36.46 meters. Spesard was second in the hammer with a throw of 44.70 meters.

Kindra Emberton (Niantic, Sangamon Valley H.S.) was first in the 800 meters in 2:20.42 and won the 1,500 meters in 4:54.48.

Ariel Robinson (Decatur, MacArthur H.S.) won the 200 meters in 26.18 seconds and was second in the 100 meters in 12.34 seconds.

Michaela Ponstein (Oswego, H.S.) won the 400 hurdles in 1:13.52 and was third in the 100 hurdles in 17.93 seconds.

Jamie Michl (Newton, H.S.) was second in the 800 meters in 2:32.61.

The Big Blue women won the 4x400 Relay in 4:06.17 with Michl, Alyssa Staib (Naperville, Naperville Central H.S.), Emberton andn Robinson competing for Millikin.

The Millikin women were second in the 4x100 relay in 50.57 seconds with Michl, Staib, Uriah Walker (Lansing, Thornton Fractional South H.S.) and Robinson running legs.
