Olney, Robinson Win Nick Volk Track Meets

NEWTON -- Olney captured the Nick Volk Track Meets at Newton High School Monday.

The Tigers won the boys meet with 112 points followed by Mattoon 102, Teutopolis 67, Newton 65, Robinson 62, Effingham 50 and Paris 50.

T-town captured first place in the 3200 relay with a time of 3:50.70 minutes.

Ben Kitten was a winner for the Shoes in the 300 hurdles in 47.35 seconds. Newton's Evan Schafer won the 400 in 56.09.

The girls meet was claimed by Robinson with 140 followed by Teutopolis 103, Olney 96, Newton 92 and Paris 6.

Jessica Runde captured the 800 with a time of 2:30.39 followed by teammate Kaitlyn Schumacher in 2:41.63. Schumacher won the high jump at 4 feet, 6 inches.

Newton's Rylea Borgic won the 300 hurdles in 53.09 seconds.
