EHS Girls Claim Track Meet, Boys Lose

Effingham High School claimed a girls track meet over Salem Monday while the Wildcats nabbed the boys meet.

The Hearts won 95-52. Carie captured four events, the long jump at 13 feet, 7 inches, the triple jump at 29-4, the 400 in 1:06.76 minutes and the 200 in 28.7 seconds.

Kuhlman nabbed two wins, the 100 hurdles in 15.30 and the 300 hurdles in 50.54.

Duncan won the shot with a throw of 30-11. Rieman took the high jump at 5-1. Weaver was a winner in the 3200 in 13:57.81. Phillips won the 100 in 13.51 and Schniederjohn was a winner in the 1600 in 6:40.81.

The Hearts claimed three of the four relay events taking the 400 in 53.33, the 800 in 2:00.78 and the 1600 in 4:20.71.

In the boys meet, Salem was a winner with 72 points to Effingham's 64.

The Hearts picked up six wins in the meet. Prather captured the shot with a throw of 40 feet. Thompson took the high jump at 11 feet. Duncan captured the 100 in 11.29 seconds. Lopez was a winner in the 800 with a time of 2:21.06. Cramsey captured the 400 in 51.98.

EHS also nabbed the 400 relay in 45.99.
