CHBC, Neoga Claim NTC Track Championships

ALTAMONT -- Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City won the girls meet while Neoga claimed the boys championship of the National Trail Conference Track Meets Tuesday.

CHBC tallied 142 points followed by St. Anthony 123, Neoga 106, Altamont 65, Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 53 and St. Elmo/Brownstown 38.

Jaelyn Robertson was a triple event winner for CHBC. She captured the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.96 seconds, the long jump at 16 feet, 4 3/4 inches and the triple jump at 34 feet, 6 inches. Carsen Burks was the only other winner for CHBC in the pole vault at 8 feet.

St. Anthony's Sarah Carr claimed three wins. Carr won the 400 in 1:04.06 minutes, the 800 in 2:33.19 and the 1600 in 6:05.91. Carr also was a member of the winning 1600 relay team along with Reagan Westendorf, Jessica Wilson and Macy Ludwig. The foursome won in 4:26.14.

The Bulldogs captured the 800 relay in 1:58.32. Team members were Katie Rogers, Stella Passalacqua, Reagan Westendorf and Macy Ludwig.

Neoga's Abbi Kepp won the 100 in 13.52 seconds. Emmalyn Walk claimed the 3200 in 13:25.99 minutes. The Indians' 400 relay team of Allison Kingery, Zoe Meadows, Melaney Gentry and Kepp won in 53.18. The 3200 relay team of Kingery, Ellie Clark, Walk and Kylee Phillips won in 11:34.50.

Altamont was a three-event winner. Hannah Wolff claimed two of those, the shot with a heave of 35 feet, 3/4 inches and the discus with a throw of 114-9. Rachel Jackman claimed the high jump at 5-2.

WSS' Whitney Smith won the 200 in 27.46 seconds.

St. Elmo/Brownstown's Claire Wilhour won the 300 hurdles in 47.94.

In the boys meet, Neoga won with 133 points followed by St. Anthony 128, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 102, Altamont 94,  Windsor/Stewardson-Sdtrasburg 48, St. Elmo/Brownstown 35 and North Clay (Louisville) 4.

Neoga's Reece Johnson claimed two victories. Johnson won the 1600 in 4:59.04 and the 3200 in 11:00.11.

Trevor Fletcher won the 200 in 23.91 seconds. Braden Eaton claimed the 300 hurdles in 44.84. Zack Gresens captured the hihg jump at 5-10.

The Indians won the 3200 relay in 9:22.90. Team members were Johnson, Fletcher, Trevor Roy and Brody Titus.

St. Anthony's Kennan Walsh claimed the 400 in 55.80 seconds. Clayton Helmink won the 110 hurdles in 18.74. The Bulldogs won the 800 relay in 1:44.86. Team members were Drew Dust, Logan Antrim, Wade Lawrence and Jack Elder. The Bulldogs also won the 1600 relay in 3:46.69. Members of the team were Mick Willenborg, Walsh, C. Helmink and Dust.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City's Dylan Webster claimed the 100 in 12.17 seconds. He also was a winner in the triple jump at 39 feet, 11 inches.

St. Elmo/Brownstown's Justin Karnes won the 800 in 2:11.56.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg's 400 relay team of Dustin Bridges, Hunter Brown, Eli Howard and Wyatt Sparr won in 48.35. Sparr was an individual winner in the long jump at 19-1 1/2.

Altamont's Nate Brown was a double event winner, taking the shot with a throw of 49-7 1/2 and the discus with a throw of 157-7. Tim Moore claimed the pole vault at 14 feet.
