EHS Wins Boys, Girls Paris Relays

Effingham claimed the championship of the Paris Boys Track Relays.

PARIS -- Effingham High School claimed both the boys and girls championships at the Paris Track Relays Thursday.

The Hearts won the boys meet with 161 points followed by Paris 90, Hutsonville/Palestine 79.5, Georgetown-Ridge Farm 59, Shiloh 49, St. Anthony 39, Marshall 32.5, Lawrenceville 19.5, Neoga 18.5 and Schlarman Academy 10.

Effingham's Terrence Hill was a winner in the 100 with a time of 11.30 seconds. Teammate Tristin Duncan finished third in 11.77. Hill won the 200 in 23.05. Hill and teammate Kody Line finished tied for first in the high jump at 5 feet, 11 inches.

Clayton Cramsey had a first place finish in the 400 dash with a time of 52.49, beating out teammate Kaleb Kihne who finished in 53.90.

Lewis Holden was third in the 110 hurdles for the Hearts in 18.74.

In field events, the Hearts' Frank Schniederjon claimed the shot put with a throw of 53 feet, 4 1/2 inches while teammate Matt Robinson took third at 46-8 1/2.

Kody Line captured first in the long jump with a leap of 20 feet, 5 inches. Teammate Jacob Miller was fourth in 18-8. Ben Schutte was second in the discus with a throw of 121-9 while St. Anthony's Michael Sager took third at 108-11.

Effingham's Alec Morrissey was second in the pole vault at 13-0. St. Anthony's Jack Elder finished tied for third at 11-0 while Will Fonner was fifth at 10-6.

The Hearts' 800 relay team won with a time of 1:37.43 minutes. St. Anthony finished fifth in 1:43.43.

The Hearts also claimed the 400 relay in 44.65 seconds. They took second in the 3200 relay in 9:02. St.Anthony was fourth in the 3200 relay in 9:21 while Neoga was fifth at 9:35.

Neoga's Zack Gresens finished second in the triple jump with a leap of 37-3 1/2. Trevor Fletcher finished fifth in the long jump at 18-4 1/2.

In the 3200, St. Anthon'ys Brian Dust was second in 11:24.20 while Clayton Helmink was third in 11:51.78, Effingham's Alfredo Lopez was fourth in 11:55.71 and Neoga's Braden Cox finished fifth in 12:06.36.

In the girls meet, Effingham's Kiyah Kuhlman finished first in the 100 hurdles in 16.68 seconds. Teammate Natalie Carie was fifth in 18.83 and Neoga's Abbi Kepp was second in 17.11. Kuhlman also won the 300 hurdles in 49.49.

The Hearts' 1600 relay team captured first in 4:28.18 minutes. St. Anthony was third in 4:39.01. The Hearts also claimed the 400 relay in 52.78 seconds while Neoga was third in 55.15.

Natalie Carie took second for EHS in the long jump at 15-2 1/4 while Katie Carie was third at 14-9. Shelby Myers finished second in the shot with a throw of 32-8 and was third in the discus at 88-6. K. Carie was third in the 400 in 1:07.71.

Kiley Weaver captured third in the 3200 in 13:46.78. She was fourth in the 1600 in 6:25.43. St. Anthony's Katlin Zeller was third in 6:21.62 and Neoga's Kylee Phillips finished fifth in 6:28.90.

Kaylee Phillips finished fourth in the 200 in 28.52 and finished fourth in the 100 in 13.90. Natalie Carie finished third in the triple jump at 30-3 1/2.

St. Anthony's Sarah Carr captured first in the 800 with a time of 2:34.20. Teammate Madison McWhorter was third in 2:55.87 while Effingham's Madison Tilford was fourth in 2:59.58.

The Bulldogs' Abigail Cothran finished tied for second in the pole vault at 7-6. Macy Ludwig and Effingham's Phillips tied for third in the high jump at 4-7.

Neoga's 800 relay team was the champion with a time of 2:02.65 minutes. St. Anthony finished fourth in 2:05.93.

Neoga's Abbi Kepp took second in the 100 in 13.68.
