Hearts Claim Girls Track Triangular

Effingham High School played host to Taylorville and Hillsboro in girls track action Thursday and picked up the triangular victory.

The Hearts tallied 82 points followed by Hillsboro 56 and Taylorville 29.

Effingham captured eight first place finishes in the meet. Carie was a winner in three events while Kuhlman and Myers picked up two victories each.

Carie won the long jump with a leap of 15 feet then came back to take the triple jump with a distance of 31-5 1/2. She also claimed the 400 run with a time of 1:11 minutes.

Kuhlman won the 100 hurdles in 16.24 seconds and took the 300 hurdles in 49.64.

Myers was a winner in the shot with a heave of 32 feet, 5 1/2 inches and also claimed the discus with a throw of 82-3.

Weaver won the 3200 in 13:21.57 minutes. Fox captured the 800 in 2:39.99.

The Hearts won the 1600 relay in 4:46.57 minutes.
