EHS Wins Boys Meet, Girls Take Second in Track

Effingham High School hosted boys and girls track meets Thursday.

In the boys meet, Effingham was the team winner with 96 points followed by Mount Zion 63 and Marshall 17.

The Hearts had 12 first place finishes in the meet. The Hearts won the 400 relay in 46.39 seconds and the 1600 relay in 3:48.24 minutes.

Individually, Tyler Marschewski won the 110 hurdles in 18.28 sec. and the 300 hurdles in 46.57. Kody Line also picked up two victories. Line claimed the high jump at 6 feet, 2 inches and won the long jump at 19-5 1/2. Terrence Hill was another two event winner. He claimed the 200 in 23.11 seconds and won the 100 in 11.17.

Clayton Cramsey took the 400 in 53.06 seconds. Alex Morrissey won the pole vault at 12 feet, 6 inches. Frank Schniederjon was the winner in the shot with a throw of 49-10 1/2. Jacob Miller claimed the triple jump at 40-7 1/2.

In the girls meet, Mount Zion won with 95 points followed by Effingham 74, Taylorville 47 and Marshall 26.

Fox was a winner in two events, taking the 800 in 2:43 minutes and winning the pole vault at 7 feet, 6 inches.

Kuhlman won the 100 hurdes with a time of 16.38.

In field events, Rieman was a winner in the high jump at 4 feet, 10 inches. Carie claimed the triple jump at 31-8. Myers was a winner in the discus with a throw of 88-5 1/2.
