Michel Has Third Fastest All-Time Performance for Millikin

The Millikin track and field team opened its season at the Illinois Wesleyan First Chance
Invitational in Bloomington, Ill. on Dec. 1. No team scores were kept in the meet.
In women’s action, LeAnn Spesard (Paris, H.S.) won the Weight Throw in 14.44
meters (47-4.50) and finished in first the Shot Put with a throw of 13.81 meters (45-3.75).
Jessica Davison (Winnebago, H.S.) finished in second in the Weight Throw in 11.73
meters (38-6.00), which ranked her sixth on the Indoor Track performance list.

Amanda Morgan (Flossmoor, Homewood Flossmoor H.S.) was fourth in the Shot
Put with a throw of 10.10 meters (33-1.75). Laura Steele (Perryville, Mo., St. Vincent H.S.) finished in second place in the 3000 Meters in 12:11.24. Kindra Emberton (Niantic, Sangamon Valley H.S.) was third in the 600 Meter Run in 1:39.83, which is Millikin’s second fastest 600 meters all-time.

Jamie Michl (Newton, H.S.) was fifth in the 600 in 1:41.01 with Millikin’s third fastest
all-time performance.

Freshman Rachel Breault (St. Anne, Bishop McNamara H.S.) was third in the 1 Mile Run in 6:06.80 Jordan Rahar (Taylorville, H.S.) led the way for the Millikin men winning both the
Long Jump and the Triple Jump. Rahar jumped 6.48 meters (21-3.25) in the Long Jump and
went 12.62 meters (41-5.00) in the Triple Jump. Rahar was sixth in the 60 Meters with a time
of 7.28. Rahar’s 7.23 in the prelims was the Big Blue’s eighth fastest time in the event.
Patrick Tharp (Decatur, Mt. Zion H.S.) finished in second place in the 3000 Meters in 9:04.43. Jacob Griffith (Villa Grove, H.S.) was fourth in 9:36. Tharp’s time ranked
fourth on the Big Blue Indoor Track performance list. Boone McIntosh (Fenton, Mo., Rockwood Summit H.S.) was third in the Pole Vault at 4.10 meters (13-5.25), which moved him up to sixth on the Big Blue performance list.

Dustin Roth (Hillsboro, Mo., H.S.) was fourth in the event at 3.95 meters (12-11.50).
Freshman Alex Kemp (Tuscola, H.S.) was seventh in the 200 Meters in 23.56. Jordan McCall (Illiopolis, Sangamon Valley H.S.) was seventh in the 300 Meters in 41.18, which was the fourth fastest in Big Blue history. Freshman Kenneth Albin (Danville, Bismarck Henning H.S.) was eighth in the 1 Mile Run in 4:51.22. Kevin Martin (Bradley, Bradley Bourbonnais H.S.) was eighth in the 600 Meter run, which was the number two time in Big Blue history.

Millikin will take a short break for the holidays before returning to action on Jan. 19 at
the Illinois College Snowbird Open.
